Support assist found hardware issue (Hard drive - Failed)
Hello,
My dell support assist found the following error:
- Hard Drive - Failed
- Targeted Read Test - WHD20-4C2
- SMART Short Self Test - WHD16-0ML
- Memory - Passed
- CPU - Passed
- DVD-RW Drive - Passed
- PCI Bridge - Passed
- Video Card - Passed
- HD Audio Controller - Passed
- Network Card - Passed
- PCI Bus - Passed
- USB Composite - Passed
- Mouse - Passed
- Bluetooth Device - Passed
- USB - Passed
and when I clicked repair options it tool me to this page:
But I am able to open my HDD and use the files on it as well. So should I ignore this error or should I replace my hard drive as suggested by support assist? Could it be due to a loose cable connection?
My PC is an inspiron 3650 desktop and I bought it 5 years ago. Recently I have put an SDD as my primary and kept HDD as a secondary drive for storage. I got this error message before I put the SDD too. But it doesn't appear everytime I scan, but now that it has appeared again what should I do about it?
Thanks in advance

Close down your PC from the start.
Open your PC cases and eliminate all the screws with a screw driver.
Unplug the hard drive which neglects to be perceived by Windows BIOS, and eliminate the ATA or SATA link and its capacity link.
