Switch from RAID 0 to RAID 1 , Precision 670?

Hi!
I´ve just got my hands on my new Precision 670, nice! Unfortuenatly the 2 150 Gb SCSI harddrives are configured in RAID 0. I eant RAID 1, whats the tip of the day, here? Do I have to buy any hardware or install additional software? Hey, I'm pretty new on this, so a step-by-step description would do the trick!

Thanks in advance!

It's impossible to switch from RAID 0 to RAID 1 without reinstalling your OS.

You don’t require any additional software/hardware. Raid configurations are crated based on your card capabilities. You would need to go into the Card’s Bios and delete your current Raid 0 setup, and create a Raid 1 with the two drives; in the process you loose all the data in the original configuration.

I’ve seen some limited success were a backup of the Raid 0 was created using Acronis & Ghost software and after the Raid 1 was created the data was restored: The restore process can become complicated, and full restore is not guaranteed.

Your other recourse is to backup your work product files and any other files that are critical; outlook e-mail folder, etc. and after creating the Raid 1 and installing a fresh copy of the operating system, copy your critical files back.

The interesting thing is that you can go from Raid 1 to Raid 0 but not visa-versa.
