Targeted Read Test and SMART Short Self Test Failed
My Dell run an automatic Check Up of the computer and when it finished it told me that the Targeted Read Test and SMART Short Self Test had failed. Im not sure if this is just a mistake or do I have to replace the Hard Drive, Im quite shock if I need to replace the drive, since my computer it's just around 6 month old and it's not slow I don't have problems to star it or shut it down, also it doesn't make weird noises or overheat. I read that I could check for errors in the Hard Drive by going into the "This PC" folder and right click in the OS then click properties, tools and then check for errors. I did and when it finished it said that the disk was without errors. Should I back up my information or replace the drive? Is it normal to have to replace the Drive so fast?

It's a Dell Inspiron 15, 3542 15.6" non-touch and has Windows 8.1

It's always handy to include the computer model, together with the version of Windows in a post.
Try running Dell's extended diagnostic test on the hard drive, this should let you know if the drive is failing:
