Trying to install XP pro
Just received my new 8400 with XP Home with sp2 installed. I have XP Pro (Without sp2 my own personal copy) I'd like to install as my operating system. When I go to install it (Booting to CD rom installation) it goes as far as being about to install and then says "Setup cannot locate a hard drive on this system" please run setup again or something to that affect. If I try to install (Reinstall as a better word) with the Dell Home XP, sp2 disk I have no problems, it finds the HD instantly.
How can I get XP Pro installed on my system and delete home?

There are two - Promise for the 8300, Intel for the 8400.

Click the Next button.
The Search Criteria menu appears.
Click to select the suitable Dimension application from the System Model menu.
Click to select Windows XP from the Operating System menu.
Click to select My Systems from the Topic menu.
A list of available Drivers and Utilities appear.
Click to select Intel Application Accelerator RAID Edition.
Click the Extract button.
The Driver: Intel Application Accelerator RAID Edition window appears.
The message insert a formatted disk into drive:A appears.
Insert a clean disk into drive:A.
Click the Continue button.
The message Diskette creation succesful appears.
Remove the Drivers and Utilities CD from the CD drive.
Click the Finish button.
Proceed to Begin Windows XP Setup and Load the SATA/AHCI Driver <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>
The problem is it just installs to my "C" drive when I click extract. Does not let me create a floppy. What am I doing wrong?

You can download the SATA driver for the D4800 from here, also read the instructions and maybe print a copy of them

When the 297kB download is finished, click "Save" and a icon for it should appear on the desktop. Insert a formatted floppy in the A: drive, riight click the icon and in the opened window, use the "Send to" feature, then click 31/2" Floppy (A) and download the driver to the floppy. You should be able to use this driver floppy, when it's requested by XP. Use the XP reinstall instructions I gave the link to. Maybe print a copy of them, to use as a reference can help.

I am still having the problem although I seem to have gotten a bit further:
I did as advised got the driver on a floppy then stated the install off cd, hit the f6 key when prompted, then inserted the disk when prompted, then hit "S" to install the driver (Intel(R) 82801FR SATA RAID Controller), then hit enter to continue. It then goes to the windows setup screen to install windows, hit "r' for recovery, etc. I then hit enter to install and I'm back to the screen that reads a hard disk cannot be located on the system. Please make sure it is connect or plugged in, or run set up again....something like that.
I again tried it with the home disk from Dell and it "does" get past that screen no problem.
What do i do next? I really need Pro on this system.
