Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. (Code 39)? DVD/CD drive help!

PBDS DVD+-RW DS-8W1P ATA Device. Its my laptops combo dvd/cd drive. I turned my computer off last night and when i turned it on this morning, I got a message from AnyDVD saying that the drive was not found, either the drive is damaged or the driver is corrupted. The program said to reboot. Then if that didn't work uninstall the program and reinstalling then reboot again. Well i did both and still nothing. Then i went into the Device Manager and got the message

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Now i tryed to rollback the driver and it said there was nothing to rollback on so i tryed to update it and it said the driver was up to date. Now the drive has power because it will open and light up. When i put a cd or dvd in there it will spin but nothing on my screen will pop up. I even tryed to clean my registry with no luck. The only thing that i did to the laptop before this happened was installed a printer. The icon for the drive does not show up in the My Computer thing.

I am not very experienced in what i am doing so instructuons would be VERY helpful! Thanks so much.
