Have you tried installing the audio drivers for the system? If not, you may want to do that to see if it will resolve the error.

Error code 10 with Intel® Smart Sound Technology driver

Resolution

Open Device manager
In System devices > Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller
Right click and select Update driver
Select Browse my computer for driver software
Select let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
Select High Definition Audio controller and install.

@Jeffreyyee​ I have XPS 15 7590 laptop.  No audio after system update on 4/11/2026. Windows 11 version 25H2.  Updated drivers and bios did not help.  I had Intel Smart Sound Technology SST OED. This device cannot start (code 10).  no audio output device is installed. I went to intel.com and entered no audio output with intel Smart Sound. I worked for my laptop.
