OMSA Version 8.5

I am not able to log onto OMSA using port 1311.  I get logon failed or it continuously loops back to the log on screen when I try other accounts.  I am able to successfully log on if I do not use the port but of course I can not see the secondary controller or the virtual disks without the port.  This server is running OMSA 8.5 on Windows 2008R2.  It is a DELL R710.  I receive the same results when accessing OMSA using port 1311 from my desktop.  I have tried different browsers and received the same results.  We had a drive fail in our disk array and I am unable to clear the amber light even though the drive has been replaced.  Any assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.  I am getting some pressure to resolve this issue from my upper management.

Hello jaf001,

I'm sorry to see OMSA is not logging in properly.  I have a few troubleshooting recommendations you can try.

Do you know when was the last time it worked? Did anything change on the network since then?

Make sure no antivirus or firewall is blocking the port.

What do you get if you try one of these?

[actual Server IP]:1311  (instead of host name)

localhost:1311

127.0.0.1:1311

Fixing OMSA may be the best place to start.

Check that all 4 DSM Services for OpenManage are running. Try stopping all 4 services then restart them and test login.

Try a repair for OMSA. (or reinstall :  https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=gyp4r )

You mentioned different browsers; Was one of them Chrome?

Have you tried a power cycle then check disk status light?

Can you get into the PERC BIOS during POST?

Check in the LifeCycle log or System Event log for any persistent issues with the drive?

What is the secondary controller?

See if this looks like what you are experiencing : https://www.dell.com/community/Systems-Management-General/Windows-Server-2008-R2-2019-10-Updates-Breaks-OMSA-Login/td-p/7390663

2019-10 Cumulative updates that patches IE  Breaks OMSA Login.

May look at uninstalling cumulative update, and look at updating java.

Please let me know how it goes.
