Using OM Essentials to update individual servers or Chassis
OK, I'm stumped. I need a video for OME. :emotion-1:
OME discovers the hardware OK. Mixture of Blades/Chassis etc
Now, if someone could pls help with the following scenario (as an example):
Aim: To update a particular m1000e
It is doscovered and inventoried OK, using OME.
I see that the latest firmware is 4.0 on the Dell Website. My CMC is only at 3.21.
- How, using OME, do I update the chassis to 4.0?
- One more thing if I may....What are the steps using OME to distribute the new OMSA to existing servers?
Thankyou,
John Bradshaw

Hi John,
Thanks for the questions - you'll be glad to know that there's definitely some information out there regarding the exact scenario you've described.
Firstly, we have this video which shows how to go about installing, inventorying and applying updates on YouTube here:
We also have several whitepapers available outlining how to go about updating the chassis firmware using OME and also how to use OME to distribute OMSA. The links are below:

Hope that helps!
