Anyone else experiencing these issues
So the first month with my Streak everything worked fine, but the last month I have had several serious issues.
1. On 5 seperate occasions if would not come out of 'sleep'. It would not turn on period. I had to remove and replace the battery each time before it would turn on. Once or twice I can see as a fluke, but this is happening more than once a week.
2. Twice I have had the phone reboot while on phone calls. Not drop a call, spontaneously reboot.
3. It is constantly locking up. At least 2 or 3 times a day. It doesn't usually require a reboot, but will lock up for around 30 seconds. (This could be a 1.6 issue not a Streak issue)
4. Apps using the SD card crash. A lot. Especially music players. I know android seemed to over look music, but the stock music player and double twist crash about 75% of the time. However, Meridian seems to do better and has only crashed about 3 times since I got it. 4 square seems to crash a lot as well. I experience a crash 100% of the time when clicking on someone's profile picture in an app (not just 4square).
5. The proximity sensor is very very slow, sometimes 2 to 3 seconds in 'waking up' the screen while on phone calls. This makes life really difficult when 50% of my time on the phone is dealing with the IVR systems companies are so fond of.
6. Some applications which are well documented running fine on other android 1.6 devices wont run on my Streak. They open to just a black screen. Occasionally the music will play. (it is possible that this as well is an Android, not Streak, issue, but I have seen it running on other 1.6 devices) It's just Angry Birds so my life won't end, but it makes me unhappy thinking about the possiblity of more important apps not working.
I'm really disapointed. I have a lot of Dell products and I have been very satisfied with all of them except the Streak. So I'd really like to know if anyone else out there is feeling my pain.

I haven't experienced anything like that. You might try installing one of the Task Manager programs from the Market. Could a program be running away with your spoon (memory)??
If I had your Streak I would consider doing the upgrade to 2.2 since it is not working as advertised now. Of course you should first contact Dell and see if they can do anything for you. They may even replace the phone since it is so out of whack.
Does anyone from the Dell support team review these posts? I haven't seen any answers to posts from Amy in a while.
You should also search for answers on the other dedicated streak forums.

I want to stay within the official Dell upgrade path so 2.2 is out of the question until Dell releases it. Also, I use Advanced Task Killer and have since the beginning. It doesn't seem to help. I reboot at least once a day, if not, I am really bogged down.

Then you will have to wait until the 2.2 update is pushed out which may not be until mid to late December. Of course you should still contact Dell and see if there is anything they can do for you.

How strange. I have only today received my Streak back from Dell. It went away to Hungary because of the problems I had with the o2 2.1 upgrade. Dell have put it back to 1.6. I have only had the phone back for 5 hours and it has rebooted twice and frozen once. Sign of things to come I guess. Strange thing is that I didn't get it rebooting on 2.1 or previously on the original 1.6.
I am so disappointed with this £429 worth of rubbish. It has so much potential too
