Delete icons from home screen?

Question

Does anyone know how to delete an icon/shortcut/widget from the homescreen of a Dell Streak?

I know with other Android devices, when you click and hold down a trash can will pop up and you can just drag if off the screen into the trash can.

With the Dell Streak it does not have that option of a trash can.

Can anyone help me by telling me how to delete one.?

If you are running 1.6 Donut... you long press on the icon or widget, then when it turns red, you click the menu button and click delete     If you are on 2.1, then you drag into the trash can
