Dell Latitude 10 Wireless Issues

Question

New Latitude XPS 10 with Win 8.  When I move out of range of a router then move back into range of that router or another one at my business, it re-connects to the router, but will not connect to the internet, i.e., browsers (chrome & IE) can't connect to anything.  I've tried manually disconnecting from and re-connecting to the router or another one nearby, same thing.  It connects to the router with no warnings, etc. but still no internet.  I have loaded the latest drivers.  The only way I have found to get back on the web is to reboot, which means I have to close all my apps, etc.  I tried Dell phone support, but found I didn't have the stamina for it. There are other internet oddities with this machine.  It's ironic that Dell Support chat will not work on this machine in either chrome or IE, but that may be a Win 8 touch issue, so I'll endure that for right now. Another one is that Chrome becomes totally unresponsive - can't go to anything but the current tab, no window controls work - until you highlight the current URL, then it goes back to working.

I would suggest you to remove all the current wireless profiles and create a new wireless profile and check if the issue persists. Please refer to the link: http://bit.ly/10dZEFI. You may change the wireless card settings. Please follow the steps below:

Open Device Manager.
Expand ‘Network Adapters’ right click the wireless card and choose Properties.
Click ‘Power management’
Uncheck ‘Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power’.
