Dell Repair
Well, as I posted about a week ago, Dell Support sent me a prepaid mailer to send back my Dell Venue. I provided the list of problems (SD slot recognition, black boxes appearing when browsing the internet (especially bad on HomeDepot for whatever reason), app crashes, system hangs and reboots.
Today I called to check on the status. The motherboard was replaced and is en route back to me tomorrow. Will check it out and see if the problems have been fixed. Maybe the new motherboard is updated and better matched with KitKat. Will be anxious to see what version of Android it comes with. I may not update to KitKat if they give me an earlier version.
I will report back my findings. In either case, I would suggest everyone contact support and at least get the problems recorded and open a ticket with Dell.
