Dell Streak 7 Tablet Battery

This is #3 replacement and I have had it almost 3 weeks and last night it started acting up.  It was flashing the light red indicating low battery charge.  I did put it on the charge but it would not boot up.

I left it overnight and now its dead.

Nothing brings it up.

Anyone have battery issues?  Could it be the charging cord?

Have you tried the pin hole reset button, to reset the tablet before charging?

ALL the time, problem is all your stuff disappears and you have to reset all your passwords, email etc.  This is our 5th one.  We have returned, replaced and repaired enough times to warrant  the expression "ITS A LEMON".

The tablet is a bad design..........We have until Feb next year before our plan runs out, otherwise we would have gone with another tablet long ago.

We just finally bought a new tablet: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2........stay tuned and lets see how long this one lasts.

We are resisting an Ipad.......we prefer android capabilities.

The pin hole button only reset your device so you can charge it, it does not wipe your data. What you are describing is a factory reset, where you lose all data and have to setup your device for first use.

When you encounter a fatal error that require a factory reset, it may not be a hardware issue, but software. Keep in mind that you are using a less than perfect OS, I prefer to call the Android in our DS7 a beta OS. Even Google admitted that Honeycomb was not a good version, they quickly moved to Ice Cream Sandwich, and now they are moving on to Jelly Bean.

The second thing you need to be careful about is bad apps. Poorly written apps coupled with an unstable OS is a recipe for fatal crashes. So don't go loading everything into your device. Apps are written for specific version of Android and are not always stable. Just think, developers wrote apps to make a quick buck. But as soon as they finished an app for one Android version, Google comes out with another new Version. Developers have to quickly adapt to the new Android while still ironing old bugs on old Android version. Get the picture?

As a user you are conditioned to use stable hardware and software, its called the PC. When things go wrong you quickly blame the device. What you need to do is use this device within its limitations. Don't go loading up a bunch of bad apps. When the device crash, you need to go into troubleshooting mode: remember what apps you were using when it crashed, what new update did you just installed. Reset to factory and load one app at a time, or a few at a time. Don't load the one that made it crash last time. Don't update the one that was updated before the crash, etc. This is troubleshooting mode, you are trying to weed out the bad and keeps the good. This is a beta tablet, not a stable PC. I hope this helped you.
