Dell Venue 11 Pro freezing/locking up

I have a Dell Venue 11 Pro that keeps freezing and locking up randomly for no reason.  It usually happens every 10 minutes or so and I can wait it out (about a minute before it starts working).  However, sometimes it is impossible to do anything without it completely locking up, and it continues to do this even if I restart it.  I have done multiple full system scans, cleaned it, and uninstalled unnecessary preloaded software, but it still does this.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I had this same issue once I had purchased mine. After hours and hours of digging, I found that it's the intel RST [Rapid Storage Technology] driver causing it. Basically the tablet isn't locking up. If you keep task manager open, you'll find that the disk usage will peg to 100% with 0.01Mb/s of data. You can blame the sata controller for basically shutting off for a short period, causing the problem. If you give it enough time, you'll see the disk usage fall to 0%. Once it does, you'll notice the tablet becomes usable again.

Now to fix this slightly annoying problem.

Turn on the tablet, go to the desktop. Bottom right hand corner on the task bar to the left of the clock. Look for the intel RST control panel. You may have to expand the tray at the bottom. It is a gray rectangle with a green check mark. Right click that, select [Open Application] at the bottom of the menu. If will then ask you for administrative permissions. Enter your administrator password [if applicable] then select [Yes]. The window should pop up for the driver. At the top, you'll notice 5 buttons. Select the one in the middle titled [Performance]

The last sentence in that window should say [Link Power Management: Enabled Disable]

Click [Disable] and you will notice those two words at the end, change places.

Restart the tablet, and now your pain in the neck will be gone. It will no longer randomly freeze up. Also if it locks up on your during the process, just wait. Give it some time to kick back up and allow you to continue. Patience is key on this one.
