Dell Venue 11 Pro Touchscreen rapidly launches Start Screen, cannot use

Hello all,

 I've just recently purchased a Dell Venue tablet.  After a few days of using this with the slim keyboard (no battery), I received a series of Windows and Dell updates to the device.  To my dismay today, the screen crazily flickers, launching the start screen very rapidly, essentially locking me out of the device.  User input is fine on the log in screen and navigating through BIOS, but this behavior has rendered the device useless to me.

Is this a known issue?  Is there any fix?  It exhibits the same behavior with or without the keyboard connected.
