Dell Venue 8 pro Miracast question
I have a little android TV Stick MK808B that has a program WifiDisplay, that should make it act as a display for Miracast, I have an Asus android tablet that will work with Miracast turned on and the tablet display is on my TV, but the Dell wont connect, Are there differences between the Android Miracast and Windows Miracast?

I know the answer to this! Dell Tablet Technical Support admits - if you push them - that the ONLY Miracast device that will work with the DV8P with any reliability is the Netgear PTV3000.
Note the line "with any reliability" - this is the kicker: The combination of a DV8P and a PTV3000 will work SOMETIMES, but only if the PTV3000 is connected directly to the TV, monitor or projector via HDMI. If you attempt to connect to vintage equipment using an HDMI2DVI adapter or an active HDMI2VGA converter, the DV8P will not "project" to the PTV3000. Now, a Nexus 7 running Android 4.4.4 will connect like nobody's business - no matter HOW the PTV3000 is connected.
What I've found is that the DV8P will connect to a PTV3000 in a hotel room so I can watch Netflix on an LCD TV - but the next morning when I need the DV8P to project a PowerPoint presentation via the PTV3000 to a projector it won't work at all. Not at all. Not for a second. The PTV3000 will connect to the projector and just sit there, waiting for the DV8P to Miracast. The DV8P will first insist that there IS no PTV3000. After a reboot it will find the PTV3000, but won't install the device. After another reboot it will insist that there is no PTV3000. After another reboot it will find the PTV3000 and start to install the device and then freeze - or a similar sequence of that sort.

With all due respect to Tech. Support, I'd also like to hear how well (or not) other Miracast receivers work (in my case, with the DV8P). For example, Microsoft has just come out with its own Miracast dongle receiver, and I just read that an update to the Roku stick last week adds Miracast capability.

I just got the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter and it works fine with the DVP8. If you try to play full-motion video from Netflix or YouTube it sometimes drops frames, but other than that, no issues.

How did you get it to connect? It recognizes it but comes back with Couldn't Connect. I have updated my drivers. Thanks.
