Umm, did you actually read my posting?

The thing is supposed to do that out of the box. Read "Micro USB for Data and Charging."

If you go to the link I provided you can read that is "will" do both at the same time. It is NOT a conventional OTG cable and that's why I bought it. BUT, the problem is, it is only working like a conventional OTG cable.

Your link isn't working for me, but assuming that the dongle is the one linked to below (Dell part 470-ABES), it should work without issue and is a great accessory, just plug and use--get power and USB simultaneously.  I wonder if yours is defective--I'd contact Dell for a replacement.

There's also a similar power + data charger available through aliexpress.com (and sometimes eBay.com), which further adds a 4-port USB hub to the device, all in a sleek package, for around $15-$17.50.  A great device, and recommended.

What model do you have because it is not compatible with the V8Pro 3000 series. I was about to buy this too but I have the 3845 series.
