Hi Smoku,

We're reviewing concerns re: the #dellstreak source code. We intend to comply with all applicable requirements. More details soon.

Thanks,

Amy

See, I just created a Google Code project that you can join and upload the kernel source.  Boy that was easy!  Here you go:

So, what's the holdup?  Smoku asked for the code two weeks ago.  It takes all of 5 minutes to spin up a Google Code project and post the source.  The fact is, if Dell wants to use Android, this is part of the price that has to be paid.  If Dell doesn't want to fully comply with the spirit and letter of the GPL, then stop making Android devices.

-I do not see any boot & update 1.6 original for the 00-EU version - I bought the phone in Germany (1.6) and a lot of things did not work so i changed over to O2 and then updated to 2.1 - as everyone is aware this is and was the biggest mess i have ever seen !

So my phone NEEDS to go back to 00-EU (german 1.6) version - WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD ?

I called & emailed several times Dell Suport in the US & Germany  NO ANSWER !

Huh?  Looks like the Aero kernel source is already available.  Why love for the semi-dumbphone, but no kernel for Dell's cream of the crop?  You're on the verge of losing me guys... I'm about to become an Apple user for life.

1.12 does not really say what source is this. But I presume this is the source for kernel delivered on stock devices.

Where is the source for kernel released with O2 Android 2.1 upgrade (build 8105) - this is a different kernel.

Please mind that GPL requires releasing the source for every released binary.

@Amy: Team is working on this

That is a good start.

Does this represent Dell's full commitment to the GPL or is there more to come?

It does seem that, to date, crucial information is still being withheld by Dell and formal GPL Violations procedures are being considered.

We all expect better of Dell and it is a shame that Dell persists in not being as helpful as it could be and indeed as it should be.
