Venue 11 Pro - Case

I have ordered a V 11 Pro and wondered if anyone had purchased one of the covers for the back of the tablet.  Any comments on the quality of the product and its effectiveness would be very welcome.

I do a lot of handwriting, so I would like to find something like the ipad cover, which folds into a triangle and lifts the tablet by a few degrees, making handwriting easier than on a totally flat screen.  I have modified a soft touch case for my Latitude 10 to do this, but wondered if anyone had seen anything of this sort for the V 11 Pro.

Thanks all,

Alun

I have been very frustrated with the case selection.  I originally ordered a Targus Safeport rugged case, but it was flimsy and the bezel would spontaneously come apart from the hard back through light handling (like pulling it out of a back pack).  The box description flat out lies about it's ruggedness. It says it withstands 40mph rains for an hour and 3 hrs of sand at 59 ft/sec.  It has physical cutouts in the screen protector for the light sensor and the camera, which combined with the unsealed bezel falling off of the back allows debris to get between the screen and the screen protector.  This wouldn't survive 30 seconds in rain or sand.  The collapsible stand/hand hold on the back is great, but the rest is un-usable.

I purchased the $20 Dell rubber boot cover, with the idea that I could attache a hand hold to it.  No luck there, the rubberized cover barely holds itself on with very small tabs that barely hold the corners.  As it is relatively hard with no soft insert, I don't have much confidence that it will provide any physical protection.  I have looked at a few hand holds that used adhesive to hold themselves on.  The PRO is that the Venue 11 has a cover to allow replacing the battery and sim card.  The CON is that the cover is not structural, so you can't attach any kind of handhold to the cover.  This tablet requires something to grab the corners to be safe.  However, there are important controls/ports on the corners (Power button, USB Port, HDMI/Charging port, Head phone Jack).  I have yet to abandon my HP touchpad because it is easier to carry around and use.  Please, SOMEONE MAKE A RUGGED CASE FOR MY VENUE 11 PRO!!!

Hey Folks. I am still checking for V11P cases and found a new one which will be in stock May 7, 2014 at Amazon. Listing says will not fit Pro i core systems but I looked carefully at the layout. It looks like that both sides are not covered compared to others posted here and available at Amazon (others for 5130 will cover the power and other hookups and swipe will not work good). This one uses a hard shell back and the only problem will be the top because it will cover the openings on the 7130/7139. I ordered one to see if the top (because hard shell) can be easily cut out for cooling etc..). I hope I am not wrong but check yourself. Both sides where the bower button and other hookups are is completely free. We use the same case for our Venue 8 Pros and they are great. :-)

Hopefully it will be the one that can be used and does not interfere with Windows swipes. :-)
