Venue 11 & Stylus
Well I have everything up to date like I am suppose to and I must say I am disappointed. Just got my Venue pro 11 and Stylus AO2 last week and the stylus has a mind of it's own. Works sometimes and doesn't most of the time. Driving me crazy. Was really looking forward to using the stylus but I guess it will have to be the good old finger. Anyone else having a stylus this new acting like this? I even put a new battery in it (got it at Walgreen's) with the same results.....works like Substitute character removed as per TOU>

Anyone else having problems? I have a bunch of these devices all with the latest updates and haven't noticed any problems. Very odd.

I have the Venue 11 Pro 5130. My stylus has got a lot worse in the last few weeks. When I first had it (A01) it was great. Now I find that I need to write for a few seconds to get it to come on, then for the next few seconds it has terrible trails & writes on the screen even when held a few cm away. Then it settles down & works great, until it powers down, then when I start writing again I have to do the same thing again.
I've contacted dell & they're sending a new stylus, so will see if that fixes it.

I don't see any reason that the Windows updates would stop the stylus from working. The functionality is controlled by firmware and hardware within the tablet and pen. If your pen isn't working properly, please contact support to ask for a replacement and post here to let me know if that resolves the issue. This seems very unusual.

In my case it was a duff stylus - got a new one today (A02) & it fixed everything.

I spoke to soon....My Stylus is acting very unreliable again even when I put new batteries in it. How many people on here have the Dell Screen Protector on their unit? I do, and I am wondering if that my be a contributing factor??? Any thoughts?

I have just purchased a A02 stylus. It works for a few seconds and then goes dead. I've tried changing the battery. Once it goes dead it doesn't seem to work at all. If I try again the next day it'll do the same thing.

I've had a couple of styluses, one worked like garbage, the other worked perfectly. I tried swapping the batteries, etc., nothing helped. I sent the defective one back to Dell without a problem. Would suggest you do the same.
Are you using a screen protector - I've heard some can severely mess with the stylus.

No screen protector. I've discovered that the stylus does sort of work if the tablet is vertical (e.g. in the keyboard dock) and the stylus is being used almost horizontal. If the tablet is flat on the desk and I'm trying to use the stylus vertically like a pen it doesn't work. Maybe a loose connection inside ?
Whatever, I think I'll have to return it for a replacement.

Return it. You shouldn't have to put up with that. Sounds just like my defective stylus. The one I have that works needs no monkeying around - it just works.

Yes, I am also having the same problem and I believe that it must be due to some type of update and not the pen itself because I just received my second stylus from Dell(the first one did not work correctly) and this one is doing the same.
The stylus does not always respond. Sometimes it stops writing and sometimes it continues writing. (I do not have a screen protector on the device).
I do not currently have a phone to contact tech in order to have them troubleshoot this with me once again but as soon as I get my new phone I will contact them.
I hope they are able to troubleshoot this and not just send me out my 3rd defective pen... Do you have any suggestions on what could help fix this issue?
