Venue Pro 8 touch screen stops working

The touch screen driver on my Venue 8 Pro seems to be crashing or something. I'll turn it on and I can't do anything, but if I connect a mouse to the USB port (I have an adapter) it works fine. If I reboot it then the touch screen starts working again. Any ideas what's going on and how I can fix it?

I haven't had any issue like that, but check the accessibility settings or the keyboard/mouse settings in case something is disabling the touch screen.  Otherwise you may need to get it replaced..

I am having the exact same problem.  I have a blue tooth keyboard that functions fine with it, but I get no touch screen functionality at all.  If I reboot the system (using Alt F4), I will get the touch screen back.  Any help out there for this?  I have no errors reported in Event Viewer other than DNS errors (I wasn't connecting to WIFI).
