XPS 18 - Keyboard/Mouse disables Touch Interface

I hope this is the correct spot for a question on the XPS 18. It is a mobile device, kinda a laptop, and also an all-in-one pc. So not really sure where it fits.

We just received five brand new XPS 18 with the i7 processor and the Dell/Logitech Keyboard and Mouse. After some difficulty getting pairing operating we discovered that if you use the mouse and keyboard, the touchscreen interface does not operate properly. You can select, but you can not close windows, type in a box, etc.

The problems get compounded when you use the S2340T monitor in with this mix too. I asked a question about its issues on the monitor forum. But, it is worth bringing up these issues here too.

So is this a Win8 issue or do we need some firmware/driver updates?

Hi KD7CAO,

Good day and welcome to the community!

Am sorry to hear about your trouble with the system. You can update first the drivers using this link http://dell.to/12QP7Pr and let me know if there's any difference. Were you able to successfully pair the keyboard and mouse with the system? As I understood of the issue, the problem now is the firmware as it affects the touch screen function. Let me know of the results. Glad to assist.

Thanks and Regards,
