More recent scam
Fair warning: Since many current laptops are not compatible with windows 11 here is a clever (and devious) scam out there. First of all - never google any Dell customer support contact numbers. There are many out there that are not legit (but appear to be for sure) and you could easily call one in error (you kind of have to put some of the blame on Dell since they make it so difficult to find an actual phone number on their website). Anyway, the hook is they will tell you they can modify your current laptop to work with windows 11. Of course that requires remote access which they achieve along with your banking info. The banking info seems to be their target so if it happens deal with that fix first. Within an hour they will have money in your account wired out and even transfer money from any your other accounts (ie: equity line) to checking so they can wire it out. Once it’s wired … game over. Oh - and this is not a paid advertisement - get Aura. They will delete everything that a copious number of data brokers now have. To try and do it yourself is impossible. Stay safe.
