How to test vmotion in workstation
Hi,
I am new for Virtualization hence I would like to test the all the feature of ESX before go for production.
Here is my scenario
I am having a single box with AMD Quad processor and 8GB of RAM & 260GB of SATA HDD.
I have installed Workstation6.5 latest build. In my test environment I created five VM’s listed below
VM1 --- Windows2003 DC with Virtual center2.5
VM2 ---Windows2003 SQL Server for VM Database
VM3 ---ESX3.5 with Update 4
VM4 ---ESX3.5 with Update 4
VM5 ---Open filer for ISCSI
I have done the installation and I tested normal functionality of ESX. I am able to create VM & run the VM inside the ESX server.
But I am not able to test the V Motion in this testing can anyone help how to configure & test the HA & fault tolerance

Do you see VMotion in under your Licensed Features in vCenter? Can you see the iSCSI storage you set up via VM5? Do your VMs running on VM3/VM4 see the same shared storage? Have you setup a VMkernel port for VMotion under Networking? Can VM3 ping VM4?
FT is only supported on vSphere 4.
FT setup is described here:
