Creating a simple performance report....not so easy :-)

Hi,
I´m trying to create a monthly performance report with a very simple layout:
  • CPU Utilization for the past month
  • Memory Utilization for the past month
  • Network Utilization for the past month
  • Disk Utilization (I/O) for the past month

I would like to generate this report every month and then have it mailed to the Technical Owner of this environment.

This environment contains 10 servers that are spread accross our virtual infrastructure. How do I (step-by-step) create this report? I have created a custom dashboard containing these 10 servers, but then I don´t understand how to create this report.

The best way would be to create a report template with the above data so that I could use is for other environments as well.

Hello heather,
I am not sure how you have built your custom dashboard meaning If the page requires some Context to populate then you should be able to build a report off of your dashboard by selecting create report option on the General Tab in Action Pane and then further selecting the option Create a Report based on the current dashboard. However this option will be grayed out if your dashboard requires no Context to populate.
The other option is to build a Service grouping those 10 servers and create a custom report based on that service.
Regards

Have a look at the vBundle-1 cartridge - You can get the vBundle-1 Cartridge and full documentation at: ftp://vbundle:vBundleA1@ftp.vmmonitor.com/
