customized reports

Hi

We have a relatively big virtual environment (2500+ VMs), that we took over from another team.

It's pretty much a horrible pigsty, that my team now has to clean out.

I'd like to generate two special types of reports:

a) a report, that shows which of our VMs are over allocated in regard to vCPU (in other words, which VMs have four vCPUs but utilize only one 90% of the time).

b) a report, that shows whcih of our VMs are potentially unused (i.e. have been idle for n months/no logins/no network activity etc...)

has anyone done something like that before an can point me into the right direction?
