DBO - Alert Log Message - how to set up to perform different actions?

I've just upgraded from V5.2.6 to V5.5.5 and the alert log monitoring rule in the Oracle Database Agent cartridge has changed from "multiple severity" to "simple". This means that where I used to have different actions for Critical and Fatal (email and SMS respectively) I can now only have it fire.

Most of my database agents are still on V5.2.6 but I want to migrate them to V5.5.5 but retain this functionality.

I figure I can either change the DBO - Alert Log Message in the new version to be a multiple severity rule (can I?), or somehow add the old Ora_Alert_Log rule to the new agent (again, not sure if I can). Does anyone know how to do this?

Edit: *sigh* - I've just seen there's a blog entry on this, so I'll look at that and see if that helps.
