Foglight to vFoglight
Can someone outline for me what a transition from Foglight to vFoglight looks like? Is this documented somewhere. Is it a whole new install, or will we be abel to keep existing history, etc...

The past several versions of vFoglight are actually identical to Foglight + the vFoglight Cartridge. Installing the vFoglight cartridge on a current version of Foglight gives you identical functionality to the pre-packaged vFoglight install.
It should have no effect on any existing data collected from things like physical servers, databases, etc.
Note that the vFoglight cartridge requires a separate license, not unexpectedly, and you should always consider your existing FMS capacity before adding additional data collection processes.
The install process involves getting a license key, downloading the cartridge from the support site, and uploading it into your FMS. Takes maybe 10 min to be ready to connect to Virtual Center and start collecting data.
Note that, vFoglight collects a lot of information. Depending on number and size of your Virtual Centers, you could consider deploying 1 or more additional FGLAM VMs just for Virtual Center data collection. Putting the FGLAM on the Virtual Center server directly is possible but not best practice.
Also, you should review the Infrastructure agent configuration for any VMs which will now be collected through the vFoglight cartridge, and turn off CPU/Memory/Network data collection, as both cartridges would populate the same properties on the Host objects unnecessarily.
Finally, you would want to use the VMware -> VMware Environment -> Administration tab to deploy the new agents, as that gives you the option to collect up to 30 days of existing history from Virtual Center when new agents are deployed, an option which is not available through the Administration -> Agents -> Agent Status screen. Once the history has been collected, the agents can then be administered through the Agent Status screen in the same way as other agents.
