vfoglight dashboard sharepoint web part
I have deployed the web part for vfoglight to sharepoint so I can view the dashboards. However, when I drilldown the dashboards, the page got redirected to the vfoglight server. I tried with page viewer web part and it is the same. Is there a way to force the user to stay on the same SharePoint page?
Thanks,
Frank

After installing the webpart piece on the Sharepoint server, did you then proceed to add a new webpart page following the blog posts found here?
I generally use the "without Credentials" option more often than the other one. Also, what version of Sharepoint are you on? Im assuming from your note above that you created a new page in Sharepoint, point the page at the vFoglight URL, and save it. However when you click on the link in Sharepoint it is launching the page in another window? One key piece that is sometimes overlooked is the URL formatting. Did you format the URL in the webpart like this?
http:// : /console/foglight_ext?viewId=
Where "foglight_ext?" being the main difference from the normally provided links?

Just to verify you checked the document for Sharepoint 2010
http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/performance-monitoring/foglight-administrators/m/admin-downloads/20438531
The URL seems wrong, you need the server and port, there is also a space between the = and the reference id (which needs to be removed.

Hi Tom,
I am using SharePoint 2010 and the latest vfoglight. I have followed the instruction shown in the documents you listed.
I created a new web part page, and added a page viewer web part, and point to
http:// : >/console/foglight_ext?viewId=
I can view the dashboard in my SharePoint page; however, if I click on any of the links inside the dashboard, it will redirect me to the foglight server console page.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the help. I also followed the documents to make the nologin thing for the dashboard. Here is what I did:
- Create a User called "MyUser"
- Enter the user the password "abcdefg1"
- Assign the User the "Operator" Role so they can use the Console.
- Create a "MyViews" Group & Role.
- Add the "MyUser" to that group
- Grant the user a Role/Group that gives access to the desired Views.
- From SharePoint, set the page viewer web part's url to point to http://:/console/foglight_ext?viewId= referenceId
However, I am still being asked to provide the credential. Any thoughts?

I understand ths issue now. Unfortunately, the dashboard embedded links in the views and such are not enlightened enough to know that you are viewing the page through a remote viewer like Sharepoint. I am going to ask another subject matter expert to weigh in on this thread for you, he may have taken webparts a bit further than I have, and possibly could shed some light on ways to address this.

I think I see a typo in the url within your response near the beginning, but am thinking it is just a type. That being said, if it is correctly formatted, try using that URL from any web browser on a different machine that has not previously logged into vfoglight. See if the screen pops up like it should without prompting. I am thinking that IE is cacheing something here around the credentials. It should not prompt you if you gave the new role you made permission to that particular dashboard.
