If the IP does not belong to the address, you will be redirected to a wrong site everytime you enter the address. You can always have HijackThis fix these, unless you knowingly put those lines in your Hosts file.

The background picture is taken off and all that is left is the default color setting.

Appears to be a Windows annoyance. I see Kelly from Kelly's Korner has been dealing with this one on newsgroups also...no clear answer so far.
My questions:
Is this a wallpaper from the XP group or an Internet graphic saved as wallpaper? In other words does it happen with all wallpaper files or just some?
What is your screensaver set to and the time duration?
