Buffer Overrun detected

Please Help!!!!  Within 30 seconds to 5 minutes after opening Internet Explorer, I get the following message: Buffer Overrun detected! (Program:C:\ProgramFiles\InternetExplorer\iexplore.exe) A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state.  The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

I too have been receiving the same error message - usually the 1st time I try to search after starting internet explorer.  I have tried soooooo many different fixes - still the same problem.  Can anyone help out there?????   Patti

I have Norton SystemWorks ... & it hasn't detected a thing.  Should I download McAfee too?   Patti

I downloaded McAfee Anti-Virus protection, ran the scan, and deleted a lot of files. I don't know which deletion corrected the problem, but I have not gotten the error message since.  Good Luck!!!!!!!
