Glad we can help. If you have any questions with the instructions at any time, please ask.

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:
  • Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop
    Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the contents of the C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

I downloaded it to my desktop.  When I double click to open it, it gives this message.....

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

This is the same thing I get when I try to open my other programs..

Is there another way to run it?

Let's do this now that you have it downloaded. Lets see if we can run it in Safe Mode

Reboot into Safe Mode
This can be done by
  • Restart your PC, and after it starts, but before you see the Windows Splash screen
Begin tapping the F8 key twice a second untill you reach another menu screen (black background with white menu choices)
Use your arrow keys and select Safe Mode and then Enter

Good job. Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh Hijackthis log. In Normal Windows mode.
