Cannot access Regedit or Task Manager
Have two Dell Dimension 2400s. I think that worm virus infected registry file. I cannot access Regedit and I have tried multiple/various different ways of getting in. I also have no access to the Task Manager when I hit ctrl-alt-delet. Had/have Norton antivirus and Adaware spyware program installed the entire time. Reinstalled Windows XP and still cannot access Regedit and task manager. Found and took a while to delete files popupblocker611.exe and another .dll file in Windows/System32 folder. Tried to access Regedit while computer was in safe mode with no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Go here and download Hijackthis
http://dsvs.org/5/HijackThis.exe
Save it in a convenient permanent folder such as C:\\HJT\\, double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents AT THE LINK BELOW

and include a description of the problem along with your log
If you are unable to download HJT from the problem pc. It can be downloaded to a working pc and copied to the problem pc by way of USB key or disc.
Please do not be tempted to "fix" on your own. Hijackthis is a very powerful tool, if used incorrectly can cause system problems

Hi,
I have a problem. I cannot access my regedit as well. I had a virus called W32.Rontokbro@mm.
Is there any way i can access my regedit and make changes to it.
