My computer is doing the same thing only it will not do anything when I hit F8. It will let me get into the bios screen via F2 or Del but I only have about 5 seconds before the computer totally freezes. I had been having device/driver errors and the blue screen of death off and on and tried following all the methods in Dell Support to fix it and it quickly escalated downward. I thought it was the hard drive so I replaced that and it won't even recognize the new hard drive so I'm back using the old one. Please HELP! The computer is not that old and I'm struggling without it!
