dell driver wireless infected
Hi, i've got a problem. When i run a scan with AVG free it tells me :
"";"Il file è firmato con una firma digitale danneggiata, emessa da: Dell Inc., C:\Users\Federico\DRIVER\DELL_WIRELESS-5540-HSPA-MINI_A04_R242757.exe";"Infetto"
that is in eglish something like
"" "The file is signed with a digital signature damaged, issued by: Dell Inc., C: \ Users \ Federico \ DRIVERS \ DELL_WIRELESS-5540-HSPA-MINI_A04_R242757.exe", "Infected"
I'm not able to understand if it isa a virus malware spyware ecc or what??
avg is not able to repair
how can i do??
thanks in advance

Since this is a Dell file, if it came pre-installed on your Dell, or if you downloaded it directly from Dell, it should be safe.
To be sure, upload the file to https://www.virustotal.com/
where it will be analyzed by over 40 different anti-virus engines, giving the results of each. If only a small few find a problem, it's likely a false positive [or alternatively, a brand new virus that most companies haven't included yet].
Note: you may have to temporarily exclude that file from your resident anti-virus, in order to access/upload it.
The type of virus allegedly found --- if it included the word "gen" (for generic) --- or the word "heuristic" --- is also an indication that there's a greater likelihood of a F/P than if it found a signature-based virus.

sdrigo, perhaps running an online scan would help so that you can get another opinion.
http://www.eset.eu/online-scanner
This scan works best with IE. Alternate browsers require downloading and installing the ESET Smart Installer.
• Accept the Terms of Use:
• Approve the install of the required ActiveX Control, then follow on-screen instructions.
* Disable the protection of your resident anti-virus program after installing the
active X control that Eset has installed and again when you actually start scanning.
• Make sure enable (check) the Remove found threats option is checked, and run the scan.
• After the scan completes, the Details tab in the Results window will display what was found and removed. A record of these results will be found here: C:\program files\esetonlinescanner\log.txt.
This online scan may take quite a bit of time to complete so please be patient. If necessary, allow the scan to run overnight. Please do not use the machine to do anything else (e.g. browse; check email; chat) until the scan completes.
** ESET Online Scanner works in Windows Vista and Windows 7, provided you
first start Internet Explorer as an Administrator. To do so,
right-click on the Internet Explorer icon in the Start Menu and select
"Run as administrator" from the popup context menu.
