deuevy.exe help needed

Question

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I think I have a virus or spyware even though I have Norton Anitvirus & Spybot.  Almost every time I start up & before I open a browser a message appears from 'deuevy.exe' (whatever that is) saying that a problem has occurred & it will have to shut down, sorry for the inconvenience.  It doesn't actually shut down, but the large message box remains over the screen no matter which browser I use.  The message shows where you can send a message to Microsoft about the problem or you can press a button that says do not send.  Also there is a place to click to see what is in the report.  If I click either the send or do not send button the message goes away.  If I click the send button it seems to be downloading something & looking very similar to what my Norton antivirus looks like when it is dealing with a virus.  I've been clicking these buttons for a couple of months just to get rid of them, but I'm wondering if I'm just enabling some spyware.  Sorry to be so ignorant in this, but I'd like to know what is going on.  Thank you! Talkingfilly

A Google search on that file brought up this page:   http://forum.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=si_hijack&message.id=8996   You might post a HJT scan log on the HJT forum. Don't know if your problem is related to the above or not. Message Edited by dalem29 on 12-31-2005 10:19 AM
