Thanks a lot...really I do appreciate it...but could someone that's certified help me? No offense, but I've had help before and it didn't work out and it caused my comp. to crash last year, but that was a different problem. I'd just like to know that this is 100% what I should do. Thanks
OK, it's looking better. That file went away when you uninstalled the AOL.
Are you still on a network that you need this?:
C:\Program Files\Pure Networks\Network Magic\nmsrvc.exe
Your Java application is out of date. Click stark-->contol panel-->add/remove programs

And also...I did everything you told me, however, I couldn't find the C:\\WINDOWS\wanmpsvc.exe file and it said I didn't have it when I tried to do a search for it...other than that...I did everything else as noted.
I'm not sure if I still need the network magic or not, it just came with my router. I use my router so I can play playstation 2 online and be on the internet at the same time, nothing more. So I'm not sure if I do need it or not. Here is my HJT report:

Congratulations, your log looks clean! Sorry for the delayed response. When I began with you, I had an email notification set up for this forum being sent to one place, and since then my email addy changed. Your last posted log must have been one that I failed to get notification of. Again sorry.
Now that your system is clean, let's create a new restore point.
Please click "Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore"
In the new window, check the 'Create a restore point' in the right pane and click "Next".
In the "Restore point description" textbox, name your restore point to something you will easily recognize. I recommend something like yyyymmdd_Clean (ex. 20060101_Clean)
Click "Create" and reboot your computer.
In the future, there are some things you can do to prevent spyware infections:
Using an alternate browser can reduce your chance of certain infections installing themselves. We recommend installing Mozilla Firefox from
http://www.mozilla.org
If you still wish to use Internet Explorer, please make sure you install SpywareBlaster (from above) to protect you from most ActiveX infections.
Run
CCleaner often
or Disk Cleanup ("Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup") and check off the following:
Downloaded Program Files, Temporary Internet Files, Recycle Bin, and Temporary Files
Thanks so much for all the help! I really REALLY appreciate it a whole lot...and as far as the delay is concerned...no worries...I was just making sure lol Once again...thanks a lot!
I have one more question if you get to read this...
My modem (sometimes router) has been shutting off on me for some unknown reason...it takes maybe 1-2 hours on the norm to fix it so that i can get back online...do you have any idea what causes this? Is it my bandwidth? Do you have any clue as to how I could fix it? Thanks for the help if you know anything

And also...I did everything you told me, however, I couldn't find the C:\\WINDOWS\wanmpsvc.exe file and it said I didn't have it when I tried to do a search for it...other than that...I did everything else as noted.

Install the following freeware programs:
SpywareGuard
Spywareblaster
Keep your anti-virus and spyware definitions up to date. Be sure to scan often.
Stay updated with the most recent Windows patches using
Microsoft's Windows Update.
Using an alternate browser can reduce your chance of certain infections installing themselves. We recommend installing Mozilla Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org
If you still wish to use Internet Explorer, please make sure you install SpywareBlaster (from above) to protect you from most ActiveX infections.
Run CCleaner often
or Disk Cleanup ("Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup") and check off the following:
Downloaded Program Files, Temporary Internet Files, Recycle Bin, and Temporary Files
So how did I get infected in the first place?
Regards, and Happy Surfing!
