Hi Stinkerpot,

Go Here and download the newer version of Hijackthis . Delete the older version
  • Save it to your Desktop
    Double Click Hijackthis.exe to run it
    Select Scan and when the Scan is complete Select Save Log File
    Save it to your Desktop
    It will open in notepad
    Copy and paste the results as a reply to this thread

Hi Stinkerpot,

You are currently running Hijackthis from a temp location. Hijackthis creates backups, which we may need, which could easily be lost or deleted from a temp location. So please move Hijackthis to it's own folder, It can be done by
  • Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
    You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C:
    then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
    Then Move Hijackthis.exe into that folder
Then rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh Hijackthis log.

Here is another message that I am receiving: 
 

The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtuuutr.dll is not a valid windows image.

Hi Stinkerpot,

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Again, please post back with the 2 requested logs.

* Click Open
* Save the results to Notepad so you can copy and paste them here.
* Repeat the previous steps for the following file: C:\WINDOWS\system32\roxnxaem.exe

Include the Jotti reports for both files in your next reply.

Open HJT by navigating to your HijackThis folder and double clicking on HijackThis.exe. Select the second button entitled " Do a system scan only".
Now select the followng entries by placing a tick in the left hand check box


O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AE7E7E61-275F-4396-94DD-ADED6CF49D7B} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\geedb.dll (file missing)

Once you have selected all entries, close all running programs then click once on the " fix checked" button to clear the entries from your log.

Download the Killbox.
Unzip it to the desktop

Double-click Killbox.exe to run it.

Select " Delete on Reboot".
Place the following line (complete path) in bold in the "Full Path of File to Delete" box in Killbox:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtuuutr.dll
Put a mark next to "Delete on Reboot"
Click the red-and-white " Delete File" button. Click " Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click " No" at the Pending Operations prompt.
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:
  • Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop
    Close any open browsers.
    Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
    When it's finished it will produce a log.
    Post the contents of the C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
    Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running.
    That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

and In the file to submit box, click Browse.Using Windows Explorer
  • (Right click on "Start," select "Explore," and you will see the "tree' of file folders in the left side of the window. Click on the "+" next to any folder name to expand its contents)
Locate the files (Placing one in each box)
  • C:\WINDOWS\system32\xbevtkwv.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\roxnxaem.exe
In the comments tell them that I asked you to upload the file
Then Select Send File.

2. Since you have Killbox, we are going to use it
  • 1)Rerun Killbox
    2) Double Click Killbox.exe to run it
    3)Select " Delete on Reboot", and then select "All files".
    4) Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:

    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\xbevtkwv.exe
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\roxnxaem.exe
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\tuvtsro.dll
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\win
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\S7
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\S6
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\S4
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\S2
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\S1
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\o02PrEz

    5) Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose " Paste from Clipboard".
    6) Click the red-and-white " Delete File" button.  Click " Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt.  Click " No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

Reboot your PC ->> Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh Hijackthis log
