You didn't indicate how long you've had your system.... if it's "brand new", then you might still be able to return it to Dell if you're not satisfied... at least, that's what their policy was a few years ago, when I bought mine --- but I don't know if it's still the current policy.

The point is this:   IF they still allow a return (I believe, it used to be within 21 days of the INVOICE date, not of the date you received it), you must do so within the allowable time period.  If you take time to try and fix the matter (either officially thru Dell, or "unofficially" thru this forum), the time/effort you use/make will be held against you in counting the days.

Perhaps someone can refer to your specific symptoms... in any case, try to move/decide swiftly.

EDITED Note:   I went back to see you joined the forum 10-28-2004... so, on that basis, I have to assume you're well past any allowable return period.

I have bought two PCS through Dell neither have been substantially good in quality. It arrived at my house about 2 weeks before christmas. 2 System Restores, 2 new Xp accounts, 4 new browsers has actually got my Pc to at least do what I want it to do. :\
