Thanks Red Dawn for the good information. The Adblock Plus did the job. It would have been nice if this add-on would have extended the right side message area to full message area. I see Gmelius add-on might do that. I don't want to install 2 add-ons that appear to do the same thing. Do you have any suggestion on how to extend this area. I 'm happy with what i have got if this is the best.
Thanks, that did the job. I'm beginning to wonder if I choose the right e-mail provider!! None of you knowledgeable forum members seem to be using gmail. I can try it for awhile. I can always change. I will just have to change my e-mail address. You forum members always help me out. I really appreciate your knowledge and help.

Evermore,
I really don't know if there's such a things as the "right" e-mail provider. Gmail is part of Google... and while I may be wrong, I believe many of the people "avoiding" gmail are doing so NOT based on any inherent flaws in gmail itself, but rather, because they have "issues" (e.g., privacy concerns ??) with Google. Users of hotmail [or windows live mail] likewise have an association with Microsoft; and users of Yahoo mail have an association with Yahoo.
What you might want to try is setting up a free account with each one, and send yourself some test e-mails to see how they look, and how easy/intuitive each one is use. I believe all their WEB-BASED e-mails are free... but you may have to pay for some NON web-based features, such as popping your e-mail to Outlook [Express] or automatic forwarding of your e-mails to another e-address. You should also check to see what features your ISP may extend to you: for example, one of the options Verizon DSL offers its subscribers includes access to many of the paid features of Yahoo mail.
Further to ky's comments on Gmail, I haven't tried it, and thus can't comment on its merits.
Speaking for myself, he is correct that my decision to avoid it is based on my general distrust of any Google software. Not just privacy concerns, but also how Google software insinuates itself into your machine and updates itself.
Thanks k331 and joe53 for your comments. I always read and respect your answers on the forum. I will keep your information and consider your thoughts in my e-mail decision.

I really do not know if this will help. I also believe this is a sub-link of the one mention by RD above.

IMHO, Google has become a bit of a monster.
