Hacktool .rootkit virus
we have Northon antivirus 2004 and are running windows 98. We have detected hacktool.rootkit virus. We have quarantined and deleted however we we run a system scan it is still there.Our programs will not run.Any sugestions how I can fix

It's called a W32/Rbot-GR, which is referred to as a Rookit.

The first thing I suggest you do is remove your connection from the internet.
Next: If you do any financial transactions online I would contact everyone you have done any business online with. Contact everyone that is in your email address book. If it were me, I'd even contact the police.
The only way to to be sure to get rid of this on this computer is to reformat the hard drive and start over. You can try to clean it but there can be no way of knowning if it's clean.
