Have a Virus - Need Help

We haven't been able to get online with our Dell for a week now.  We had our ISP check out our computer because everytime you try to renew the IP address it fails.  According to our ISP we got the virus when my sister was downloading music and they said to contact Dell.  We've tried calling the customer service but they've been no help.

Basically what happens is when you try to renew the IP address it says this:

Error: An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket.

Does anyone know what's wrong and how we can fix our computer so that we can get back online?  They said it is a virus.  We ran Virus Check and it said there were none.  Our IP is listed as a 169 and the subnet mask is 255... or something like that.  Basically - not good.

Any ideas or suggestions???

You have lots and lots of spy/ad ware on your system - that is no doubt your problem. Some can be removed by spybot and Ad-aware listed below. If spybot asks to run after a reboot, reboot your computer let it find all that needs to be removed, then go to the search and destroy page and ensure that all the items it finds are removed.
------------------------
Use these to remove Malware (Spyware and Adware).

1) SpyBot Search and Destroy
After installing SpyBot Search & Destroy, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.
Next, close all Internet Explorer windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds. A tutorial on spybot can be found from the malware section of my website (Link Below).

2) Get Ad-Aware
After installing Ad-Aware, and before running the program, first press “check for updates now".
Click "Connect" and install all updated components available. Click 'Finish'.
Press "Scan Now", then 'next', and let Ad-Aware scan your drives.
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys. Click 'Next' again.
Check all found items, and click 'next' once more.
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.

Also Download then unzip and run CWShredder to clean up clicking Next to have it remove all it finds.
http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zip

Always reboot the computer between each program - both of these may find things that they need to have a reboot of the machine to clear - please reboot and let them finish .

Then post a fresh hijackthis log for us to check.

DO NOT FIX ANYTHING WITH HIJACKTHIS WITHOUT EXPERT ADVICE, most of what it finds you need for normal MS Windows tasks.

Download LSPfix from here: http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Launch the application, and click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox.

Check all instances of inetadpt.dll (and nothing else), and move them to the "Remove" pane.
Then click Finish.

Then in hijackthis, tick these lines, and WITH ALL BROWSER WINDOWS CLOSED, fix ticked.

Then post a fresh log for me, that should enable you to get back online, but do still have other problems.
