Help!!! Cannot remove McAfee Shredder!!

Question

My account with McAfee has expired and I am taking advantage of the free virus security through my internet provider with Norton.   I uninstalled McAfee through my control panel and I have also searched any/all files containing the word McAfee and deleted them.   Norton Virus protection is not installing because I have not uninstalled 'McAfee Shredder'.  I have removed all traces of McAfee and have also gone to their website and uploaded a removal tool and I am still having problems.   If anyone has any other suggestions to remove McAfee Shredder please let me know   Thanks!

Mc Afee supplies a program that can do this. I can't remember the name of it (as I changed the name when i saved it to my computer). I still have it...if anyone wants it PM me and I can email it to you...it's 548kb

Thanks for the offer...just my luck, my computer burned out on me last Monday :smileysad:.  Am now on a new computer which did not have McAfee on it and I was able to download a free software without any hassel....
