Help, help, help (Kaspersky AV problems)

I have installed Kaspersky AV on my new Dimension 8700. Kaspersky has a pretty good record.
BUT:
The other day the system tray control module just disappeared! I have sent Kaspersky about 6 emails requesting support, and haven't had a reply of any sort yet!!!
I can't uninstall Kaspersky, I don't know if it's running or not, I don't know if I have AV coverage.
Customer service is DEFINITELY NOT a priority for Kaspersky (a hang over from the USSR command economy?)
Has anyone else had problems getting help from Kaspersky? Does ANYONE have any ideas or suggestions. I'm desperate!!!

I receive error message: 'Attention; before unistalling Kaspersky AV you must exit the program. Open program shortcut menu, select Exit and press IE (both letters have an inverted 'v' above them- I've never seen this symbol before).
Problem is the program shortcut menu is the very thing that's 'disappeared' so I'm stuffed!
