That's does seem logical, but it doesn't mean the 'overall' status of your system. That would be really cool if it did ... :)
What it means is the Nortons software, in relation to itself. It's a general status, based overall, on the "Auto Protect", ..., "Virus definitions", status' presented below. If something is in need of attention, like if your virus definitions are out of date, or Auto_Protect is disabled, you'll get a general notation here; like "Attention required". Then, you'd have to look below to see what was wrong.
