Right-click on the start button and select
Properties. Click the "Start Menu" tab then click the
Customize button.
Which one there has the bullet...Large icons or small icons?
Your log looks fine. There has been another java update. You should uninstall your version of java and install the latest version to close any security gap that may be involved with the outdated version.
What was the exact program name that you downloaded? Are all of your Desktop icons changed or just some of them. I know you did say they were changed to a
BOLD appearance but were they changed in any other way (i.e. larger, smaller, translucent)?
On your next reply, please indicate when this problem first occured. Thanks!
Click Start-->Control Panel-->System-->Advanceed tab
Under "Performance" click the
Settings button. Where is the bullett, and how many of the items listed in the window have check marks?
Right...and when you clicked the
Settings button, it opens to the "Visual Effects" tab.
Return to that tab, place the bullet in the "Custom" option, remove the checks from all but the last three items listed there. Click "Apply" and "OK" your way out.
Right-Click now in a blank area of the Desktop. Select
Properties then
Appearance, then
Effects...Uncheck the first two boxes and hit "OK".
Reboot to properly record the changes made to the disk. Post back your results.
Click Start-->Control Panel-->Display-->Desktop
Click the
Customize Desktop button then click the
Restore Default btton. Next, click the "Web" tab. Does anything there have a checkmark?
