Hi Bugbatter - Thank you for responding. I am helping a friend of mine with her computer. I think I should run another HijackThis log. I thought that I ran it after everything else but now I don't think so. She had two AVs running, Mcafee and one by PC Tools. I uninstalled both and installed AVG Security Suite. I also deleted a lot of temp files. Her computer is running much better but I want to be sure there isn't something lurking in the background.
I will go to her house this week, run another log and copy it in here. I apologize for not paying better attention.
I have not posted this in any other forum.
She is not using cracked software.
She is not knowingly using any file sharing programs but I will check on that. Do I look for those in the Program files?

Let's see if MBAM picks up anything. First, we need to disable TeaTimer so it does not interfere with our tools.
Right click the running icon of Spybot's TeaTimer, and choose Exit SpyBot S&D - Resident'
While both Teatimer and SpyBot are closed:

ResetTeaTimer.bat to remove all entries set by TeaTimer (and preventing TeaTimer from restoring them upon reactivation).

1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
5) Restart your computer.
Double click on resetteatimer.bat to run it, and wait for it to finish.
Since it will not be needed again, delete ResetTeaTimer.bat after you run it.
When we are COMPLETELY finished with ALL your fixes, you can turn Teatimer back on again via SpyBot's tools resident page.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, Click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Notes)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy and paste the entire report into your next reply. Also include a fresh HijackThis log.

2. Then select the items you wish to clean up.
In the Windows Tab:

• Clean all entries in the "System" section.
• Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section.
• Clean any others that you choose.
In the Applications Tab:
• Clean all in the Firefox/Mozilla section if you use it.

• Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section.
• Clean any others that you choose.
3. Click the "
Run Cleaner" button.
4. A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. It is possible that you may be running Java code in your applications that absolutely require a specific version of the JRE to run.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u7 allows end-users to run Java applications".
Click the "Download" button to the right.
Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
NOTE: As always during installations, beware of any pre-checked option to install Google Toolbar.
The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each of the Java versions. Close Add/Remove.
* In Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Java =this folder. Delete any subfolders except the subfolder jre1.6.0_07 which was just created by the installation above. * Do NOT delete C:\Program Files\ JavaVM =this folder, if found!
Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.

Right click the running icon of Spybot's TeaTimer, and choose Exit SpyBot S&D - Resident'
While both Teatimer and SpyBot are closed:
Download ResetTeaTimer.bat to remove all entries set by TeaTimer (and preventing TeaTimer from restoring them upon reactivation).

If you are using Firefox, right click the above link and choose ‘Save As’.
Save it to your desktop.
Save it as resetteatimer.bat
1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
5) Restart your computer.
Double click on resetteatimer.bat to run it, and wait for it to finish.
Since it will not be needed again, delete ResetTeaTimer.bat after you run it.
When we are COMPLETELY finished with ALL your fixes, you can turn Teatimer back on again via SpyBot's tools resident page.
Please download to your desktop Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here
Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
- Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
- If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
- Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
- The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
- When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
- Make sure that everything is checked,
- When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Notes)
- The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
- Copy and paste the entire report into your next reply. Also include a fresh HijackThis log.
Extra Note:Click Remove Selected.
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process; if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.
If you encounter this message:

Close all other windows and click "Fix Checked". Close HijackThis. Reboot.
Download and scan each user profile with CCleaner. This is a good utility to keep and use regularly:

** Select to download the SLIM version.
** Because CCleaner removes everything in temp folders, if you have anything in a temp folder, back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner.
** We will be cleaning cookies as well. Make a note of any passwords, etc. that you want to save. If you do not want to delete cookies, simply uncheck that option.
1. Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK
" Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"
2. Then select the items you wish to clean up.
In the Windows Tab:
• Clean all entries in the "Internet Explorer" section.
• Clean all the entries in the "Windows Explorer" section.
• Clean all entries in the "System" section.
• Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section.
• Clean any others that you choose.
In the Applications Tab:
• Clean all in the Firefox/Mozilla section if you use it.
• Clean all in the Opera section if you use it.
• Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section.
• Clean any others that you choose.
3. Click the " Run Cleaner" button.
4. A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.
5. Click " OK" and it will scan and clean your system.
6. Click " exit" when done.
REBOOT.
Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. It is possible that you may be running Java code in your applications that absolutely require a specific version of the JRE to run. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
- Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.
- Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u7 allows end-users to run Java applications".
- Click the "Download" button to the right.
- Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
- NOTE: As always during installations, beware of any pre-checked option to install Google Toolbar.
- The page will refresh.
- Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
- Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
- Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
- Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
- Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
- Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each of the Java versions.
- Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
- Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.
Official JAVA Installation Instructions if needed.Close Add/Remove.
* In Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Java =this folder. Delete any subfolders except the subfolder jre1.6.0_07 which was just created by the installation above.
* Do NOT delete C:\Program Files\ JavaVM =this folder, if found!
Following all that, please post a fresh log and let me know how things are running.
