Why did you reinstall windows? When you did, how did you do it...with a Windows XP installation CD or do you mean you did a system restore or system recovery using those features instead of the Windows XP installation CD?
For other forum readers benefit, when one DOES reinstall windows, a complete reformat of the disk should be done, then install the O/S using the installation CD...and all the while, you should have EVERYTHING disconnected from the back of your computer except for:
Your Keyboard
Your Mouse
...and of course, Your Monitor
Then...upon successful installation, you should immediately install the Windows XP SP2 updates BEFORE going online.
How you would ask?
By now, you all should have a copy of the SP2 updates on CD available free from Microsoft

i reinstalled b/c my computer stinks...well, ok, its the user who stinks, but it was beyond slow and i had no rom space left etc...so i put in the installation cd and pressed "c" until the option to erase previous and reinstall...
i do not understand about your "hyjackthis" link...i am very computer illiterate.
