You may need to unload the giant anti-malware application before fixing.

That is unload the running process - not uninstall.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick replies! I have tried CWS...it comes up with nothing, also S& D & Ad-aware, + Giant + SpySweeper are all unable to remove this spyware...it seems to reside in memory, as my screen freezes up after an hour or so, any suggestions re: my hijack log above? ( I unloaded Giant  & all other anti-spyware b4 running CWS)

Thanks a lot again,

Just run another Hijack-this check, & here is what it shows, ...looks like the 01 items are suspect, as I cannot get rid of them,...have uninstalled Giant since my last log(trial version).

Hi

b) download Adaware addons VX2 double click and install it

2) Start Windows in Safe Mode by pressing F8 as the computer is booting and choosing Safe Mode, then Turn off System Restore for Windows ME and Windows XP. How to Boot to Safe mode How to Disable System Restore

3) Open My Computer and choose Tools, then click on Folder Options, click on the View tab and under Advanced Setting, choose Show Hidden Files and Folders, then click on OK and close My Computer. In Windows XP/2000, you may also want to uncheck the options for "Hide extensions for known file types" and "hide protected operating system files". How to Show Hidden Files and Folders

pls repost your log if you still have any problems

Congrats Viking

To prevent reinfection and keep spyware out

Install

SpywareBlaster  SpywareBlaster Tutorialwill added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.

IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone, so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all. How to Install and Update IE Spyad for Internet Explorer  Using IE-Spyad to enhance your privacy and security

And use firefox when surfing the next especially unsafe websites or sites which have a lot of popups
