hijackthis log - xmlbin.exe, please help

Hi,

Hopefully some of you might be able to help and tell me if this might be a spyware or virus. A couple of days a go i discovered a process XMLBIN.EXE using a big part 160 of my 256 Ram. Nothing came up running Adware and McAfee, but after a couple of reboots it went back to a 25k. However i also noticed CPU outburts up to 90-100 linked to extra xmlbin.exe activity. It looks like a sinus wave relation when looking at the Taskmanager graphs. Short bursts every couple of seconds. After rebooting a gain I now have outburst up to 60-90. It's workable but wories me as I cannoy find anything about this process. On the web I could only find the following posting, also related to CPU activity http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=si_virus&message.id=26814.  I tried to stop this process, but it starts directly after ending. I also followed the instructions, but no result. According to hijackthis it is located in Wndows/security, but it's not visible. I'm I having a problem and if so how can I get rid of this process as it slows down system performance.

If you cannot help me then please direct me to a source that can.

What is XMLBIN.EXE all about?

Thanks in advance

Audio,

Try using 'Search...' and locating that file on your harddrive, along with crlib.exe. When located, try right-clicking on the entry, and selecting "Properties", let's see if something there will tell us more about the program(s) author(s).

Hi,
xmlbis has gone just like that, now crlib.exe is the problem, running my cpu at 100. Cannot find it using Search. Cannot delete it using Highjackthis normal procedure. 1037 folder seems empty, but indicates 2,6 memory. Please help.

I finally solved this nasty catlevent problem. My computer is running smoothly again. After working on it for like forever, using all sorts of tools and following all sorts of advise I came across the following tool: http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/. It got rid of the problem in no time. It might also help to first stop other user accounts on the computer to use/start this (changing name).exe rerun programm by using the Cacls command.
Goodluck.
